Current Status of Lohr School of Woodworking.

Due to my retirement, as founder and owner of the JD Lohr School of Woodworking, I am sorry to announce that I will no longer be able to offer any of the hands-on practical woodworking courses for which the school is so well known.  As of August 2022, all plans, and intentions to reopen the school have been terminated.
Out of courtesy to the 1,616 adult men and women who have attended the school since 2001, this web site will be transitioned into a historical record of the school’s 21 years of successful operation.

What’s Next?

Now at 71 years of age and retired, I am pleased to announce that I am transitioning the Lohr School of Woodworking into THE COOPERATIVE AT LOHR WOODWORKING STUDIO.  What this means is that for the typical cost of renting a small unequipped shop or studio work space, those accepted into the   “Cooperative” will be awarded full use of my professionally equipped 3,600 sq.ft. workshop during regular (6) six day a week business hours.  For multiple reasons, I am restricting membership consideration to just (4) four Lohr School of Woodworking alumni only.

Alumni interested in learning more about “The Cooperative at Lohr Woodworking Studio” are directed to email me at: JDLohrWood@aol.com

Sincerely,
Jeffry D Lohr

The Lohr School of Woodworking, located in SE Pennsylvania, offers the best total immersion, machine-based woodworking and furniture-making course.  Our Practical Woodworking course is designed for adults with beginner,  intermediate, or advanced experience levels. Students begin with rough lumber and through six days will learn safety, efficiency, and repeatable machine and hand tool techniques while creating a hall table of their own. We require students to complete the Practical Woodworking course before they can enroll in any of our advanced courses. We are a custom furniture-making studio that opens it’s doors for small classes of students throughout the year so you’ll find an array of stationary and handheld machinery, tools, and expert instruction here in our shop. We are located on the Lohr Farm so, you may also find a chicken or two!
